Mental Health Hygiene – Advice

Psychiatrists spend practically all of their time treating individuals with mental illness.   As the demand for population health grows, psychiatrists need to be more involved with providing guidance on how to maintain mental health and prevent mental illness.  Some of the needed tools are well known but bear some repetition. Promoting creativity, time for reflection, appropriate diet, sensible exercise regimens, and cultivating rewarding social engagements and interactions are all needed for mental health and stability.
